Marshfield girls golf earns third-place finish at sixth WVC meet

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls golf team had its best finish of the Wisconsin Valley Conference tournament series, finishing third on its home course at Marshfield Country Club on Tuesday.

The Tigers finished with a score of 220, edging Wisconsin Rapids for third place by one shot and D.C. Everest by four.

Stevens Point wrapped up the WVC team title with a score of 170, winning for the sixth time in six WVC meets. Wausau West/East was a distant second with a score of 205.

Anna Weis led Marshfield, finishing seventh with a 48. Morgan Meyer tied for 11th with a 53, Leia Linzmeier had a 57, Bryssa Lens shot a 62, and Paige Bulgrin had a 63 for the Tigers.

The seventh and final meet of the WVC tournament is Wednesday at Glacier Wood Golf Course in Iola.
