Columbus Catholic soccer ties at Northland Lutheran

KRONENWETTER – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team had its eight-game win streak snapped but still walked away without a loss as the Dons battled Northland Lutheran to a 1-1 tie in a Central Wisconsin Conference game Thursday.

Columbus Catholic’s only score came on a Northland Lutheran own goal, while Kanon Haga scored in the 18th minute for the Wildcats.

With the tie, the Dons remain in sole possession of first place in the Central Wisconsin Conference, moving to 6-0-1 and 8-1-1 overall. Northland Lutheran is now 5-1-1 in CWC play.

The game was even throughout as the Dons held a 15-12 advantage in shots and 9-8 lead in shots on goal.

The Dons will play at the Waupaca Quadrangular on Saturday. Other teams at the tournament include New London and Middleton.
