Unbeaten Colby tops Spencer in Cloverbelt East girls basketball action

SPENCER – The Colby girls basketball team continued its dominance of the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a 61-25 victory over Spencer on Friday night at Spencer High School.

Colby, the defending Cloverbelt East champions, remain undefeated this season after the convincing win, improving to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Spencer is now 2-8 and 1-7 in the Cloverbelt East.

Vanessa Lopez led Colby’s balanced offensive attack with 10 points. Hailey Voelker and Ashley Streveler each chipped in nine points.

Leah Zastrow had five points for Spencer.

Spencer plays a nonconference game at Pittsville on Jan. 4. Colby hosts Edgar in a nonconference game Dec. 28.
