Stratford boys basketball stays unbeaten, takes down Pacelli

STEVENS POINT – The Stratford boys basketball team remained undefeated, outlasting Stevens Point Pacelli 69-58 in a game at the Sentry Classic on Thursday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Vaughn Breit had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Ben Barten had 16 points and Lance Heidmann added 14 points for the Tigers, who are now 7-0 this season.

Stratford made all 10 of its free throw attempts and shot 44 percent from the field, making 27 of 61 shots.

Branden Ackley added three 3-pointers and scored nine points for the Tigers.

Nathan Helms led the Cardinals (2-7) with 17 points.

Stratford will play fellow unbeaten Almond-Bancroft (8-0) at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Quandt Fieldhouse.
