ORLANDO, Fla. – The Marshfield baseball team dropped a pair of games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Tuesday, falling to a pair of teams from Illinois.
Marshfield lost to Johnsburg 9-7 and Highland Park 10-1 to drop to 0-3 this season.
Marshfield plated five runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-3 lead against Johnsburg, and led 7-4 after six innings before Johnsburg scored five times in the top of the seventh to pull out the victory.
Ryan Krueger had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Ben Gust added a pair of hits for the Tigers.
Highland Park rapped out 12 hits to beat Marshfield in the second game of the day, scoring nine times from the fourth through sixth innings to pull ahead.
The Tigers were held to four hits, two by Krueger. Isaiah Baierl added a double and Marshfield’s lone RBI in the loss.
Marshfield’s trip in Florida will continue through Thursday.
