Marshfield third at second leg of Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament

STEVENS POINT – D.C. Everest had three top-10 finishers and won the team title at the second leg of the 2019 Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.

D.C. Everest finished with a score of 328, four shots ahead of Stevens Point. Marshfield, which won the first leg last Friday, finished third with a score of 345. Those three teams are now tied for first in the overall team standings.

Merrill’s Russell Dettmering was the meet medalist, shooting a four-under par 68, a full 10 shots ahead of Ben Peloquin and Sam Hagedorn of Everest, who tied for second.

Nate Boson topped Marshfield with an 84 and a 12th-place finish. Cole Hanson had an 86, Ben Baur shot an 87, Jaxon Bulgrin had an 88, and Jeffery Berres shot a 94 for the Tigers.

The third leg of the tournament is Friday at Wausau Country Club.
