Spencer softball pushes past Columbus Catholic

SPENCER – Tiffany Meinders went 4-for-4 and struck out 12 to lift the Spencer softball team to a 6-1 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Monday at Spencer High School.

Meinders tossed a complete game for the Rockets, allowing just one walk and one run. She also had two singles, a double, a triple, and two RBIs in the win.

Aryiah Schuh had two hits and scored twice, Shaelee Neitzel had two hits and an RBI, and Cassidee Widmann drove in a pair of runs for Spencer.

Addison Baierl suffered the loss for the Dons, finishing with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Maren Seefluth had a single, a double, and scored the Dons’ lone run on an RBI by Baierl.

Columbus Catholic (4-5 overall and Cloverbelt East) returns to action Wednesday at Neillsville.

Spencer (6-7, 5-4 Cloverbelt East) hosts a doubleheader against Colby/Abbotsford beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
