OMAHA, Neb. – Marshfield High School graduate Ethan Finlay welcomed his home state team to Creighton University on Saturday and sent them back to Wisconsin a loser.
Finlay, a 2008 graduate of Marshfield and a junior on the Creighton men’s soccer team, scored the game’s only goal six minutes into overtime to help the Bluejays knock off Wisconsin 1-0 on Saturday at Morrison Stadium.
The goal was Finlay’s team-high fifth of the season and helped the Bluejays improve to 6-1 this season. Wisconsin falls to 1-5-1.
Creighton opens Missouri Valley Conference play on Friday at home against Eastern Illinois.
