UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield men’s basketball team pounds Richland

MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield men’s basketball team saw 10 different players scored as the hot-shooting Marauders rolled to a 98-60 win over UW-Platteville at Richland on Saturday afternoon at the Marauder Gym.

Matthew Roth of Colby hit three early 3-pointers and finished with 19 points overall on 8-for-9 shooting to lead Marshfield.

The Marauders made their first five 3-point attempts and built a 20-point lead in the first half.

Joe Fields of Milwaukee Obama finished with 13 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and two blocks, Ethan Posteluk of Marshfield High School had 12 points, three assists, and three steals, and Colton Wright (Auburndale) and Kade Hanson (Marshfield) each added 11 points in the win for Marshfield.

Jack Bezlyk (Spencer) chipped in six points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Marauders.

Marshfield (2-1) hosts UW-Eau Claire at Barron County on Monday at home at 7:15 p.m.
