Spencer girls basketball opens season with split of two home games

SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team opened up season by splitting a pair of games this week.

The Rockets beat Weyauwega-Fremont 40-37 in a nonconference game Tuesday and dropped their Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener to Gilman 62-25 on Friday night. Both games were at Spencer High School.

Heavyn Kind led Spencer in scoring in both games, tallying 13 points against W-F and six vs. Gilman.

Spencer returns to action Tuesday at Granton.
