Stratford girls basketball snaps four-game losing skid with win at Marathon

MARATHON – Breanna Ackley had a double-double and the Stratford girls basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 57-49 win over Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Thursday at Marathon High School.

Ackley had a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Emily Hughes scored nine of her 11 points in the second half to lead the way for the Stratford.

Stratford (5-12, 4-8 Marawood South) held a slim 29-28 at halftime and pulled away in the second half outscoring Marathon by seven.

Elizabeth Boehm led Marathon (8-6, 6-5 Marawood South) with 12 points.

Stratford will have a week off before hosting Chequamegon on Feb. 7.
