Stratford senior center Ben Barten and Auburndale senior guard Cooper Weinfurter were named Co-Players of the Year, and were unanimous first-team selections to the 2019-20 All-Marawood Conference South Division Boys Basketball Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the regular season.
Barten averaged 15.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game for Stratford, which repeated as Marawood South champions. He shot 73.1 percent from the field and 72.3 percent at the free throw line this season. Barten was also a first-team selection last year.
Weinfurter led the Marawood South in scoring at 19.6 points per game, shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 86.2 percent at the free throw line, while making 63 3-pointers.
Joining Barten and Weinfurter on the first team were Edgar junior Drew Guden, Stratford senior Chandler Schmidt, and Marathon senior Clarke Mouw. Guden and Schmidt were also unanimous picks.
Schmidt averaged 10.2 points per game and shot 79.3 percent at the free throw line, and also made 24 3-pointers.
Mouw averaged 13.5 points per game and Guden 13.3 per game this season.
Auburndale had two second-team selections in junior Hunter Wright and senior Fletcher Raab. Wright averaged 15.5 points per game, while Raab tied Weinfurter for second in the conference with 63 3-pointers, and averaged 12.6 points per contest.
Stratford’s Curt Schmidt was named Coach of the Year.
