Auburndale’s Harrison sixth at Tomahawk Invitational

TOMAHAWK – Auburndale junior Danica Harrison took sixth place, finishing in a time of 15:24.6 on Saturday at the Tomahawk Cross Country Invitational at Edgewater Golf Course.

Andrew Ostenso of Ladysmith won the girls race in 14:09, 23.3 seconds ahead of second-place Ashley Eckhoff of Wausau East.

The Auburndale girls only fielded four runners, so it did not figure in the team standings, which were won by Wausau West. West edged rival Wausau East 40-44 for the team title.

Sam Karl took 28th in 17:12 for the Auburndale girls team’s next-best finish.

The Auburndale boys finished eighth, led by Luke Haas, who was 16th in 17:34.8 and David Haas, who took 18th in 17:41.4.

Cody Artyaiuk of Antigo won the boys race in 16:28.3, 23.3 seconds in front of Clintonville’s Tyler Sawall.

Wausau East won the team title behind four top-10 finishes. Chequamegon was a distant second.
