The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin recently announced its 2020 Academic All-State honorees, which included five members of the Marshfield High School boys golf team.

The GCAW modified its system for the Academic All-State team due to the COVID-19 related shutdown of school in the spring, including the spring sports season. Instead of limited the honorees to just those golfers who participated in 75 percent of the team’s varsity matches, all golfers who earned at least a 3.25 grade-point average are honored.

A total of 620 students from 86 high school teams were honored on this year’s all-state team.

Golfers from Marshfield that were named to the all-state academic team are recent graduates Cole Hanson, Jeffery Berres, and Khailyn Schaefer, current senior Seth Peterson and current junior Davis Rens.
