Auburndale senior guard Hunter Wright was named the Player of the Year and was one of four unanimous first-team picks to the 2020-21 All-Marawood Conference South Division Boys Basketball Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the season.
Wright joined Edgar seniors Drew Guden and Kyle Brewster, and Marathon junior Jaden Koeller as unanimous first-team selections. Wausau Newman Catholic sophomore Mason Prey rounded out the first team.
Wright topped the conference in scoring at 18.2 points per game with 42 3-pointers made and while shooting 54 percent from the field. He also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game as well for the Eagles.
Guden and Brewster helped lift Edgar to the conference title and an appearance in the WIAA Division 4 state tournament. The duo’s stats were almost identical, with Guden averaging 14.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while making 52 3-pointers. Brewster averaged 14.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest, with 48 3-pointers.
Koeller averaged a team-high 14 points per game for Marathon, while making 54 3-pointers.
Prey scored 13.9 points per game for Newman Catholic.
Stratford junior Camden Daul and Auburndale senior Schuyler Gilhausen were among the second-team picks.
Gilhausen scored 11.7 points per game and made a team-high 54 3-pointers for Auburndale, while Daul averaged 11.1 points per game for Stratford.
