WAUSAU – Stevens Point’s Logan Pechinski maintained his lead in the overall standings by firing an even-par 72 to win the fifth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Greenwood Hills Country Club.
Stevens Point won the meet by two shots, 346-348, over Wausau West, with D.C. Everest third. Marshfield was sixth with a 370.
Wausau East’s Carter Cygan was second with a 76, and Marshfield’s Jaxon Bulgrin and D.C. Everest’s Charlie Strasser tied for third with 82s.
Ian Haugen had a 90, Seth Peterson shot a 98, Caden Machtan had a 100 and Ethan Schnitzler fired a 101 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.
The sixth leg of the tournament is Friday, May 21, at Merrill Golf Course.
