The Marshfield girls soccer team split a pair of games, defeated Stevens Point 2-0 on Thursday at Marshfield High School, and losing a nonconference game at Tomah on Friday, 5-2.

Kate Schilling scored both of Marshfield’s goals in the win over Stevens Point.

Schilling had a goal off an assist from Courtney Meyer in the 10th minute, and added another in the 71st minute on a Hannah Halle assist for the Tigers.

Ava Sainterme had two saves and Clara Allar had one as Marshfield’s defense dominated.

“Ava has been just doing her job as she gets time, and between her and Clara Allar, they are working hard and making great strides to up their game each week,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “It was a nice win for the Tigers, who for the first time defeated SPASH twice in a season. That does not happen with us beating the powers in the Valley twice in a season, but this year we made it happen.”

Avery Weister scored both of Marshfield’s goals in the loss to Tomah, with Schilling assisting on the first.

Riley Winsch and Diedre Martin each had two goals for Tomah.
