Auburndale baseball shuts out Chequamegon behind 16 strikeouts from Wright

PARK FALLS – Hunter Wright struck out 16 in a complete game two-hitter as the Auburndale baseball team shutout Chequamegon 4-0 in a nonconference game Saturday.

Chequamegon managed just singles in the fifth and seventh innings against Wright, who was dominant, setting down the order in five of the seven innings.

Wright also had a pair of hits and three stolen bases. Schuyler Gilhausen was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two RBIs, and Ian Brown also had a pair of hits in the win.

Auburndale (8-10) hosts Iola-Scandinavia for a nonconference game Monday before wrapping up its regular season with a Marawood Conference South doubleheader at Edgar on Tuesday.
