OWEN – The third-seeded Auburndale volleyball team is one win closer to its second straight trip to the WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament.
The Apaches won the regional championship Saturday night, beating Owen-Withee 25-23, 16-25, 26-24, 25-21 to advance to next week’s Division 3 sectional.
Auburndale, which has won seven straight Marawood Conference South Division championships, will take on Marawood North champion Athens in a sectional semifinal Thursday at Abbotsford. The sectional championship game is at Marathon on Oct. 30.
