Stratford baseball cruises past Auburndale in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

STRATFORD – Riley Bauman had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four as the Stratford baseball team rolled past Auburndale 13-3 in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Tuesday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first four innings against Auburndale starter Hunter Wright, chasing him from the game.

Kale Weisenberger did the rest, allowing just two hits and three runs (one earned) in a six-inning complete game for Stratford. He finished with six strikeouts and five walks as the Tigers completed a three-game season sweep of Auburndale, a Marawood Conference South Division foe.

Hunter Ford added two hits and two RBIs, Max Vanderhoof and Cam Daul both had a pair of hits, and Braeden Schueller had a double and an RBI for Stratford (18-3).

Aden Cherney had a hit and two RBIs for Auburndale, which finishes its season with a 10-13 record.

Stratford will face another Marawood South rival in the next round of the playoffs as it will host Marathon (16-7) at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in a D-3 regional final. Marathon defeated Neillsville 9-4 on Tuesday.
