Marshfield Legion baseball blasts Merrill

MERRILL – Kale Weisenberger and Noah Grimm combined on a two-hit shutout as the Marshfield American Legion baseball team rolled past Merrill 12-0 on Thursday night at Athletic Park.

Weisenberger allowed two hits in three innings and Grimm finished up with two perfect innings for the Blue Devils, who are now 5-3 this summer.

Colten Schillinger went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Logan Homolka was 3-for-3 and scored three times for Marshfield. Parker Weik added a double and three RBIs for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield will play in the Eau Claire Tournament this weekend. The Blue Devils play Green Bay Southwest at 5 p.m. Friday, Winona LeJetz at 10 a.m. and Eau Claire at 8 p.m. on Saturday, and De Pere at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, before returning home to host Plover on Monday.
