Columbus Catholic volleyball plows past Gilman in Cloverbelt East opener

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team had little trouble taking down Gilman in its Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener on Thursday, sweeping the Pirates 3-0.

The Dons won 25-14, 25-11, 25-14.

Dorci Walker had 12 kills and four service aces, Izzy Hoglund had 17 digs, and Courtney Sommer led Columbus in assists with 15 in the three-set sweep.

The Dons will join Phillips in a triangular at Three Lakes in a big battle among sectional powerhouses on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
