ABBOTSFORD – The Auburndale volleyball team’s season came to an end with a 3-1 loss to Abbotsford in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Thursday night at Abbotsford High School.
The No. 3 seed Abbotsford (25-12) won 26-24, 20-25, 29-27, 25-22, in a tight match to move on to a regional final at No. 2 seed Stanley-Boyd on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Auburndale ends its season with a 15-13 record.
Josie Ertl had 23 kills and eight digs, Marta Almendra had 12 kills and 22 digs, and Ashlyn Grimm had 23 digs and 45 assists for Auburndale in the four-set loss.
Brianna Weiler added eight kills and six digs, and Maggie Baltus and Nicole Marth also each had eight digs for the Eagles.
