Marshfield Middle School boys swim team opens season with victory at Antigo Triangular

ANTIGO – The Marshfield Middle School boys swim team opened its 2021-22 season by winning a triangular meet at Antigo on Monday.

Marshfield finished with 68 points, with Wisconsin Rapids second with 58 and Antigo third with 56.

Marshfield won four races with Carson Klumb setting a new school record in the 50-yard breaststroke in 39.09 seconds. Other winners for the Tigers were Zach Kayhart in the 200 freestyle (2:29.39) and the 50 backstroke (33.99 seconds), and the 400 relay team of Kayhart, Jackson Eckes, Paul Ugoretz and Klumb (5:01.25).

Marshfield will be back in action Dec. 9 at Wisconsin Rapids for a quadrangular meet that also includes Antigo and D.C. Everest.
