Ackman wins title, Spencer/Columbus wrestling finishes sixth at Rhinelander tournament

RHINELANDER – Spencer/Columbus had four top-five finishes and took sixth place as a team at the Hodag Wrestling Scramble on Wednesday night at the Hodag Dome.

Treyton Ackman won the 120-pound title for the Rockets to remain undefeated this season. Ackman defeated Kyle Wiese of Rhinelander with a pin in 1:15 in the championship match.

SC’s Joe Neider finished second at 170 pounds, losing in the finals to Tanner Kaufman of Northwestern 11-1.

Mason Wolf (126) and Ashton Curtin (145) both finished fifth for Spencer/Columbus.

Crandon won the team title with 240 points, with Northwestern second with 194.5 points. Spencer/Columbus took sixth with 104.5 points.

Spencer/Columbus will compete at the Bi-State Classic in La Crosse on Dec. 29-30.
