Auburndale boys basketball routs Phillips for third-straight win

PHILLIPS – Sophomore Caden Weinfurter scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Auburndale boys basketball team to an 81-43 win over Phillips in a Marawood Conference crossover game Monday at Phillips High School.

Auburndale led 30-19 at halftime before blowing the game wide open with a 51-point second half.

The Eagles, winners of three games in a row, improves to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the Marawood South.

Lucas Yeske added 12 points and Alex Willfahrt had 10 points and five rebounds in the win for Auburndale, which made 11 of 25 shots from 3-point range.

Auburndale hosts Chequamegon for another Marawood crossover game on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
