Spencer boys basketball tops Phillips in overtime

SPENCER – Kaleb Brandt had 21 points and eight rebounds to help lead the Spencer boys basketball team to a 63-55 overtime win over Phillips in a nonconference matchup on Thursday at Spencer High School.

Noah Schultz added 17 points and four steals, and Carson Schmidt chipped in 12 points for the Rockets (4-10).

Nate Belan had 20 points and Drew Hauschild added 14 for Phillips (2-10).

Spencer plays a nonconference game at Athens on Monday.
