Two late goals pushes Mosinee past Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – Daniel Gildain scored twice in the final four minutes to lead the Mosinee boys hockey team to a 2-0 victory over Marshfield in nonconference action Thursday night at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Both goalies were on their games throughout as neither team scored for the first 44 minutes before Gildain broke through on a power play with 3:47 remaining.

Gildain scored again on an empty net with 1:49 left to finish off the victory for Mosinee (12-8).

John Reede earned the shutout for Mosinee, saving all 15 shots he saw in goal. Cole Halvorsen had 26 saves for Marshfield.

Marshfield (10-9-1) hosts Tomahawk for a nonconference game Saturday at 4 p.m. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com. Mosinee hosts Medford for a Great Northern Conference game on Tuesday.
