ANTIGO – Hanna Merkel won the balance beam and finished tied for third in the all-around to help Marshfield to a third-place finish at the Julie Langseth Gymnastics Meet on Saturday at Antigo High School.
Merkel won the balance beam with a score of 8.95, and also finished fourth in the uneven bars (8.2) to end up with an all-around score of 33.9 for the Tigers.
West Bend West won the team title with 134.85 points, with Medford second with 131.85 and Marshfield third with 130.3 in the 10-team field.
Phoebe Hernandez added a third-place finish in the vault (8.65) as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield hosts an invitational on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Antigo, Grantsburg, Milton, Mosinee, Rhinelander, Rice Lake and Waupun will provide the competition.
