Kind scores 35 points to lift Spencer girls basketball past Colby

COLBY – Heavyn Kind poured in 35 points, nearly outscoring Colby by herself, to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 59-36 victory over the Hornets on Friday night at Colby High School.

Spencer improves to 17-6 overall and finishes the Cloverbelt Conference East Division season with a 14-2 mark.

Claudia Krause added eight points for the Rockets.

Kya Viegut led Colby (6-14, 5-10 Cloverbelt East) with eight points.

Colby finishes its Cloverbelt East schedule with a home game against Granton on Monday. Spencer will play Chippewa Falls McDonell in the second-place game of the Cloverbelt crossovers on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Osseo-Fairchild.
