Columbus Catholic boys basketball blasts Tigerton in WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team dominated from the opening tip and cruised to a 69-22 win over Tigerton in a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus Catholic (21-4), the No. 2 seed in its sectional bracket, will host No. 7 Gresham (16-8) at 7 p.m. Friday. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com. Tigerton finished the season 2-21.

The Dons rolled out to a 50-7 lead by halftime and emptied their bench in the second half as everyone on the roster was able to get some postseason action.

Nine different Columbus Catholic players scored in the win, with Blake Jakobi scoring 12, Sam Wilczek 11 and Lucas Kreklau 10 points.
