Marshfield finishes second at D.C. Everest Boys Track Invitational

WESTON – Marshfield won two events and had five second-place finishes as it took second at the D.C. Everest Boys Track & Field Invitational on Friday at Stiehm Stadium.

James Ketterer won the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 10 inches, and the 3,200 relay team of Thomas Cashmer, Michael Dick, Owen Hoerneman and David McKee took first in 9:03.20 for Marshfield’s two victories.

D.C. Everest dominated, winning 12 events to finish with 216 points. Marshfield was a distant second with 132.5 points.

Earning second-place finishes for Marshfield were Henry Hoerneman in the 1,600 (4:48.26), Jeffrey Marsh in the long jump (20-2.25), Noah Peterson in the shot put (42-8), the 400 relay team of Isaac Dagit, Simon Dagit, Christian Chin and Joshua Schaefer (48.16), and the 1,600 relay team of Jesse Messmann, Graham Lonsdale, Ketterer and Dick in 3:41.65, as it was the runner-up by just 7/10 of a second.
