Wisconsin Rapids slugs past Marshfield baseball

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Braden Lewis threw a complete game with five strikeouts, and went 3-for-3 with four RBI to lead the Wisconsin Rapids baseball team to an 11-1 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest Thursday at Lincoln High School.

Wisconsin Rapids now holds a one-half game lead in the Wisconsin Valley Conference standings, improving to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Stevens Point and Wausau West are both 4-1.

Brennan Huber added a single, a triple and three RBI, and Ashton Potter had a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game due to the 10-run rule for the Raiders.

Chase Robinson had Marshfield’s lone RBI in the game. The Tigers fall to 0-14 overall and 0-6 in the WVC.

Wisconsin Rapids knocked out Marshfield starter Cody Donahue after one inning by scoring four times.
