Stratford baseball shuts down Edgar, clinches tie for Marawood South crown

STRATFORD – The Stratford baseball team clinched no worse than a share of the Marawood Conference South Division championship with an 8-2 win over Edgar on Thursday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

Cam Daul threw a complete game for the Tigers, striking out 12 with just one walk.

Stratford is now 13-2 overall and 8-1 in the Marawood South with one game remaining in conference play at home against Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday.

Jackson Ormond had two hits, and Dillon Kirsch drove in two runs for Stratford.

Brett Baumgartner and Ashton Schuett each had RBI for Edgar (8-5, 5-5 Marawood South).

Edgar will play at Chequamegon and Stratford at Rib Lake in nonconference games on Friday.
