Storm knock off Marshfield

MOSINEE – Marshfield’s Paige Johnson scored nine minutes into the second period to tie the game at 1-1, but the Central Wisconsin Storm rallied for three straight goals over the final 18 minutes to beat the Tigers 4-1 in a girls hockey game Friday.

The loss knocks Marshfield to 7-4-1 overall and 3-4 in the Great Northern Conference, while the Storm improve to 16-1 and 10-0 in the GNC.

Tiffany Hladovcak scored three goals for the Storm, including the first goal and the go-ahead score, which came in the final minute of the second period.

Ashley Bauer had 22 saves for Marshfield.

The Tigers play at home Monday against Lakeland and Tuesday against Menomonie. Both games start at 7 p.m. at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.
