Columbus Catholic soccer slams Gresham/Bowler

GRESHAM – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team won its fifth game in a row with a 9-0 rout of Gresham/Bowler on Tuesday at Gresham High School.

Grant Olson, Alex Edwards, Charlie Moore and Ezra Duda all had goals in the opening 11 minutes for the Dons, who are now 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Central Wisconsin Conference. Duda’s goal was the first of his varsity career.

The Dons poured in on from there, nailing home five more goals before halftime. Olson scored two more times to finish with a hat trick, and Edwards, Mira Torbey and Jaden Garneau also had goals. Garneau’s was his first of his career as well.

Lucas Kreklau didn’t face a shot in goal as the Dons dominated with a 24-0 shot advantage.

Columbus Catholic is off until next Monday when it hosts Stevens Point Pacelli at 5 p.m. Thursday at Griese Park.
