Marshfield girls finish second, boys fourth at Medford Cross Country Invitational

MEDFORD – The Marshfield girls finished second and the boys fourth at the five-team Medford Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Medford High School.

Natalie Scharenbroch took third place in the girls race, running in 20:19.6, as the Tigers finished with 64 points. Medford won the girls team title with 24 points as its top three runners finished second, fourth and fifth.

Nora Gremban of Northland Pines won the girls race in 18:40.9.

Michaela Dick took 13th (22:15.1) as well for the Marshfield girls.

Thomas Cashmer was sixth (17:45.0) and Owen Hoerneman seventh (17:53.2) for the Marshfield boys.

Lakeland won the boys team title behind meet winner Owen Clark (16:45.6).

Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational on Oct. 8, the final regular-season meet of the season. The Tigers will host the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet on Oct. 15 at Frey Field in Spencer.
