Marshfield football player Trevor Foemmel wins voting for Awards ‘n’ More September High School Athlete of the Month

Marshfield High School football player Trevor Foemmel has been voted the Awards ‘n’ More September High School Athlete of the Month.

MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports are co-sponsors of the award for the 2022-23 school year. The monthly award will continue through June 2023, and the winners of the Awards ‘n’ More High School Athlete of the Year, for both male and female athletes, will be announced in July.

Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award: Abbotsford, Amherst, Athens, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Iola-Scandinavia, Loyal, Marshfield, Mosinee, Neillsville, Newman Catholic, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Rosholt, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point, Wild Rose and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.

Foemmel received 3,600 of the nearly 8,880 votes cast during voting from Oct. 3-10 at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.

Other nominees for the September award were: Stevens Point volleyball player Emma Barton, Edgar volleyball player Reagan Borchardt, Columbus Catholic cross country runner Isaac Scheer and Auburndale football player Trayton Weber.

Foemmel, the Tigers’ senior quarterback, had seven rushing touchdowns and seven passing touchdowns in Marshfield’s five games in September, which it won four to clinch a WIAA playoff spot. Foemmel had 182 rushing yards and two touchdowns and threw for 158 more and three scores in a victory over D.C. Everest on Sept. 9, and again threw for three TDs in a victory over Appleton West on Sept. 23.
