Auburndale senior Adam Dorshorst was named Lineman of the Year and was one of six Eagles to earn nine slots on the first team of the 2022 All-Marawood Conference Football Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the season.
Dorshorst was a unanimous first-team selection at both offensive and defensive line in earning the Lineman of the Year honors as Auburndale tied Edgar and Colby for the conference title.
Senior Alex Willfahrt was a first-team pick at three different positions – wide receiver, defensive back and punter for Auburndale, and was joined on the team by teammates Trayton Weber at quarterback, Conner Brandl at defensive end, Sloan Welch at offensive line and Tim Schmitt at fullback/tight end.
Auburndale’s Jay Anderson was also chosen as the conference Coach of the Year as the Eagles went 6-1 in the conference and 9-2 overall, reaching Level 2 of the WIAA Division 6 playoffs.
Willfahrt had 20 catches for 407 yards and five touchdowns, and three interceptions on defense, while Weber ran for 888 yards and 21 touchdowns and threw for 1,423 yads and 12 scores. Schmitt finished with a team-high 30 catches for 319 yards and two touchdowns.
Receiver Aden Cherney, running back Evan Scholl, Welch at inside linebacker, Weber at defensive back, and outside linebacker Kaden Anderson were among the second team picks for Auburndale.
Colby running back/inside linebacker Caden Healy was named Back of the Year after rushing for 1,428 yards and 20 touchdowns and leading the Hornets with 68 total tackles.
