Marshfield boys swimming wins all 11 races, dominates Wisconsin Rapids

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys swim team swept all 11 races and also placed second in eight of them to roll to a 127-42 victory over Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

Henry Hilbelink, Simon Dagit and Kyle Berres each won a pair of individual events for the Tigers, who are now 3-2 in WVC meets.

Hilbelink won the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.84) and the 100 freestyle (54.18 seconds), Dagit was first in the 100 butterfly (58.07) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.93), and Berres won the 50 freestyle (23.75) and 500 freestyle (5:43.18) for the Tigers.

Dagit and Berres teamed with Hayden Nelson and Michael Dick to win the 200 medley relay in 1:53.78, and with Zander Edmundson and Hilbelink to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:40.63 as well for Marshfield.

Marshfield’s other victories came from the 400 freestyle relay team of Carson Klumb, Kevin Buth, Edmundson and Hilbelink in 3:55.94, Nelson in the 100 backstroke (1:06.51) and Klumb in the 200 freestyle (2:07.04).

Marshfield’s Alik Martin won the diving event, which is not part of the team score, with a score of 253.10.

Marshfield will host its final home meet of the season Thursday against D.C. Everest starting at 5:30 p.m.
