Columbus Catholic boys basketball earns home win over Spencer

MARSHFIELD – Emmitt Konieczny and Lucas Kreklau each scored 16 points to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team to a 63-48 win over Spencer in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

With the win, the Dons keep pace with first-place Owen-Withee in the Cloverbelt East standings. Columbus Catholic is now 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the conference, one game behind the Blackhawks. The two teams play at Owen-Withee on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. and again at Columbus on Jan. 31.

Cy Becker added 13 points for the Dons.

Jonathon Jonas scored a game-high 20 points for Spencer, which is now 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer’s next game is Thursday at home against Loyal.
