MERRILL – The Marshfield wrestling team finsihed off a perfect Wisconsin Valley Conference regular season with a 58-18 rout of Merrill on Thursday at Merrill High School.
Marshfield won six matches by pin, one by technical fall and two more by major decision to earn the dominating win and finish the WVC dual season with a 6-0 record.
Adrian Kruger (285 pounds), Ava Gardner (113), Brett Franklin (138), Hoyt Blaskowski (145), Grayden Rode (152) and Mason Seidl (182) each won by pin for the Tigers.
Jon Sternweis (106) and Garrett Willuweit (170) won by major decision, Caleb Dennee earned a 19-2 technical fall victory at 160, and Jace Kelnhofer won a wild 17-13 decision at 126 as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield will look to capture its first overall conference title since 2018 at the WVC Meet at Merrill on Feb. 4.
