Marshfield volleyball wins all four matches, Auburndale goes 0-4 at Eau Claire North tournament

EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield volleyball team opened its 2023 season with a perfect 4-0 record at the Eau Claire North Tournament on Tuesday.

Marshfield defeated Hudson 25-23, 24-26, 15-10; Superior 25-18, 25-23; Chippewa Falls 23-25, 25-13, 15-13; and Eau Claire North 25-19, 16-25, 15-8.

Abby Ongna had 54 kills, five blocks, 18 digs and seven service aces to lead the way for the Tigers.

Kailyn Kurth had 105 assists, Lauren Homolka added 22 kills, Ashlyn Barwick had a team-best 35 digs, and Grace Taylor had 23 digs and five aces for Marshfield.

Auburndale went 0-4, losing to Hudson 24-26, 25-4, 15-11; Superior 23-25, 25-8, 15-9; Chippewa Falls 25-15, 25-7; and Eau Claire North 25-7, 25-5.

Sidney Wolff had 18 kills and 15 digs, Lily Bellanti added 16 kills and 19 digs, Maggie Baltus had a team-high 30 digs, and Kylie Anderson had 31 assists for Auburndale.

Auburndale plays a nonconference match at Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday.

Marshfield will compete at the Sun Prairie East Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
