Eau Claire North doubles up Marshfield boys soccer

EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield boys soccer team dropped its season opener at Eau Claire North 4-2 on Tuesday in a nonconference matchup.

The Tigers scored an own goal just 2:20 into the game and added another in the 18th minute from Keegan Fredrick, off an assist from Eli Bremer.

North was able to forge ahead for the victory, shutting out Marshfield the rest of the way. Michael Halvorsen scored twice and Dylan Morosky had three assists for the Huskies.

Zak Meyer had six saves in goal for Marshfield.

The Tigers host Hortonville for its home opener on Thursday at Heiting Community Stadium starting at 5 p.m.
