MARSHFIELD – Brielle Lenz tied for second with a 44 as the Marshfield girls golf team finished second at the third leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament on Friday at Marshfield Country Club.
Wausau East/West won the team title with a score of 182, six shots ahead of Marshfield, which had won the first two legs of the seven-meet tournament. Wisconsin Rapids was third with a 206, followed by Stevens Point (222) and D.C. Everest (231).
Ayla Trollop of Wausau East/West won medalist honors with a 41, three shots ahead of Lenz and Talia Schlindwein.
Lexxi Oertel was fourth with a 46, Shylah Brogan added a 48, McKenzie Holm had a 50 and Lili Anaya had a 56 as well for Marshfield.
Ashley Jaeger of the Marshfield JV team had a hole-in-one on the par 3 14th hole.
The fourth leg of the tournament will be Friday, Sept. 8, at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
