Marshfield’s Scharenbroch, Columbus Catholic’s Scheer earn top-10 finishes at Columbus Catholic Cross Country Invite

MARSHFIELD – Natalie Scharenbroch finished fourth for the Marshfield girls and Columbus Catholic’s Isaac Scheer took eighth in the boys race at the Columbus Catholic Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Wildwood Park.

Hudson won the Large Schools Division boys title, with Whitefish Bay taking the girls crown. Chippewa Falls McDonell was the boys Small Schools Division winner, with Chequamegon taking the girls title.

Ethan Foote of Stillwater (Minn.) won the boys 5,000-kilometer race in 16:04.6, three seconds ahead of Hudson’s Brock Bjerke. Isaac Scheer finished eighth in 16:42.7 to lead the Columbus boys.

Owen Hoerneman finished 10th for the Marshfield boys, running in 17:00.5.

Scharenbroch ran the girls race in 20:33.8 for Marshfield’s top finish.

Autumn Michalski of Chequamegon cruised to the victory in the girls race, running in 18:09.7, 37 seconds in front Whitefish Bay’s Lily Kriegel.

Columbus Catholic’s top girls finisher was Abby Wojcik, who took 20th in 23:40.1.

Columbus Catholic will run at the Marshfield Tiger Invitational on Tuesday back at Wildwood Park.
