COLBY – Marshfield Columbus Catholic junior Isaac Scheer won his second meet of the week, taking first at the Colby Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Colby High School.
Scheer, who won the Marshfield Tiger Invite last Tuesday, took first in the 5,000-meter boys race in 16:41.0, 19.6 seconds ahead of Stratford’s Cree DeFoe.
Nathan Scheer added a 10th-place finish for the Dons, running in 17:40.2, as they finished sixth in the team standings.
Stevens Point Pacelli won the boys team title with 68 points, with Rhinelander second. Stratford ended up fifth.
Stratford’s Kayla Casperson was the girls runner-up, finishing second in 20:27.3, more than one minute behind Medford’s Meredith Richter, who won in 19:23.2. Breleigh Skaya also earned a fifth-place finish for Stratford, which took third in the team standings behind Medford and Colby.
The Columbus Catholic girls were fifth and Spencer was sixth.
Abby Wojick led the Dons girls, taking 23rd in 23:43.8.
