Stevens Point hands Marshfield girls tennis its first WVC loss

STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point handed the Marshfield girls tennis team its first Wisconsin Valley Conference loss of the season, winning 5-2 on Thursday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Marshfield senior Ashley Grancorvitz remained unbeaten at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory, and the No. 3 doubles team of Aubrey Layton and Morgan Vechinski won in straight sets 6-3, 7-5, for the Tigers’ two wins.

Marshfield will compete at the New Richmond Quad on Saturday, along with Eau Claire North and Superior.
