Columbus Catholic volleyball rolls past Coulee Christian/Providence in WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal

MARSHFIELD – The top-seeded Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team dominated in its WIAA playoff opener, rolling to a 3-0 sweep of La Crosse Coulee Christian/Providence Academy in a Division 4 regional quarterfinal Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons won 25-4, 25-6, 25-5, over the 16th-seed Coulee Christian/Providence.

Courtney Sommer had 10 assists and three kills, Aaliyah Krenn had six kills, and Alayna Egle, Izzy Hoglund and Mattea Schlafke each had six service aces in the Dons’ win.

Egle added eight assists, Chayse Blenker had four kills and Gracie Wilczek had five service aces as well for Columbus Catholic.

Columbus hosts Loyal in a Division 4 regional semifinal Thursday at 7 p.m.
