Marshfield earns two first-team selections on 2023 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Soccer Team

Marshfield junior midfielder Keegan Fredrick and senior goalkeeper Zak Meyer were first-team selections to the 2023 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Soccer Team, as voted on by the seven conference coaches following the season.

Fredrick led the Wisconsin Valley Conference in scoring with 11 goals and 25 total points, which included three assists, and was one of seven unanimous first-team selections.

Meyer had an .850 save percentage in eight matches, which was the second-best in the WVC. He allowed 12 goals with 68 saves for the Tigers, who finished 4-3-1 in conference play.

Conference champion D.C. Everest had three first-team selections, including unanimous midfielders Evan Peak and Jonah Vesper. Senior forward Tyler Goertz also was a first-team pick for the Evergreens.

Stevens Point senior defender Andrew Falkavage, Wisconsin Rapids junior defender Sean Roenius, Wausau East senior forward George Vang, and Wisconsin Rapids senior forward Ben Weidman were also unanimous first-team picks.

Rounding out the first team selections were Stevens Point senior midfielder Cole Anderson and Wausau West junior midfielder T.J. Sondelski.

Weidman was named the WVC Player of the Year after finishing the conference season with nine goals and two assists as Wisconsin Rapids finished in second place with a 6-2-1 record.

Marshfield junior midfielder Matthew Uphoff was a second-team selection and junior defender Joey Ketterer was an honorable mention choice.

Uphoff finished tied for third in the conference with seven goals scored.
